HOUSE AT PALM BEACH 2015

PALM BEACH, AUSTRALIA

The sloping site located on Palm Beach road , overlooked Palm Beach and held an existing heritage house with a rich history and local significance.

The brief was to renovate and extend the existing heritage house to create a large family retreat within a stones throw of the beach.

The design sought to separate the forms of the extensions to allow the original house to remain centre stage, all linked internally through well planned connections. The accommodation developed over three levels - the lower entertainment/pool and childrens' wing, the original house including the kitchen, living spaces and dining, and the upper master retreat with home office.

As a Part II Assistant, I assisted with the early development and planning application. I saw the design though several sketch schemes and assisted with the model making to further the design. The project went on to be built and was successfully completed in late 2015.
